Then she had to put the  bananas and the straw berries also the yogurt in to the mixer. Then after that she had to put it in the cups so we can drinks it. I done well at not making a big mess and I enjoyed drinking the smoothies. What I can do better is not talk to my mate.

Script

In Te Ngahere we have been making an advertising script for our technology. I enjoyed writing this script because if we didn’t make a script our family wouldn’t know we are selling a shelf. What I can do better next time is help my group out. In class the year 6’s did a quiz that taught me what a word play is while the year 7s and 8s went to make their smoothies with Whaea Gina.

Easly

In Te Ngahere we have been looking at how much time we have spent gaming. We found out that most people spend hours and hours gaming. So our teacher Mr Lindsay created a doc with questions. Our names weren’t on our answers - they were kept private. But the results were all shared. Also our teacher created a slide showing the results with the questions on it.  The data was shown in percentages though.

Tech

n Te Ngahere we have been doing technology. My group is making a fruit box so we don’t have to carry it around. All we have to do is roll it around to people and we would ask them “want some fruit?” and they would be like “yup”. I enjoyed making stuff with tools because you can make whatever you want. I did well at helping my group out. I think I can do better next time by sharing the tools with my team.

Fizzy drinks

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about healthy foods. Whaea Gina came to tell us what kind of drinks to have or what kind of food to eat. I was a little bit surprised because Whaea Gina was talking about how much sugar there is in a fizzy drink. So she said there was ten tea spoons of sugar in a fizzy drink but people like me are only allowed five tea spoons of sugar a day.

Duffy assembly

Yesterday we had our first Duffy school assembly. A character named Zinkie from the book called the Dream Catcher came to Paihia school to give out free books so we can read them in class and at home. Then she said she will give good students a one million dollar signature only if we answer the questions. I learnt that we always have to read and don’t play on games. Then we said goodbye and she went back home. When we went back to class, we read our new books. It was so fun.

Cross country

In Te Ngahere last week on Thursday the 4th Paihia School had cross country. It was so cool at cross country because I got a free hotdog. It was so yummy. When It was my turn to race, first we had to get on the line then secondly we had to get ready for our race. Finally the teacher said go. Then I ran and ran. I never stopped. I came fourth and made it into Inter-School Competition.

Making bee's wax wraps

In Te Ngahere we have been making beeswax wraps. It was fun because we got a square piece of fabric and then coloured it in. It was fun as and then after all of that we had to dip it into wax. It smelled like honey. I did well at waiting for my turn and I enjoyed drawing on my fabric. What I could better next time is draw better.

In Te Ngahere we have been setting goals for this term. I had to pick two subtraction and addition goals
(strategy), one algebra goal and two knowledge goals. I did well by setting goals that I need to learn.
I enjoyed making the words fancy and the background.

Forest descriptions

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about descriptive writing. We had to write a descriptive writing for the Ngahere. Heres my writing about the forest. A sound of a nice big brown owl. Stepping on the sloppy mud almost about to slip. A fresh smell of a beautiful rose. The big loud storm crashing into the trees. A big kauri tree waving at everybody. A fresh nice beautiful smell of a daise.

My pepeha

For two weeks we have been learning to say our pepeha, I enjoyed sharing my pepeha with other people. I enjoyed sharing where I am from and what my iwi is. Next time we do this I think I need more information about my family and to show where I am from.
